On Tuesday July 14, Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal held a forum on through-running for Penn Station. As ETA has long argued, through-running is not only possible, but it is the best solution to increase Penn's capacity while also creating a truly regional rail service.

It was a dazzling evening, with strong statements in support of through-running by public servants like Hoylman-Sigal, New York State Assembly Member Tony Simone, Chief of Staff to Representative Jerry Nadler Rob Godheim, and of course, Amtrak Special Advisor, through-running expert, and New York City "Train Daddy" Andy Byford, who opened the panel with a ringing defense of through service.

Watch ETA's executive director Blair Lorenzo, the RPA's Tom Wright, and NYU Wagner's Polly Trottenberg debate how through-running can improve service and capacity:

Many thanks to the Borough President's office for putting together this vital discussion.
